Oregon All-State Auditions

All-State Choir auditions must be completed by Friday, October 8th. Students should speak with Miss Wright to set up a time to record auditions. The following is from the OMEA website and is a description of the wonderful opportunity that All-State Choir provides.

"Oregon Music Educators Association All-State groups provide an outstanding and memorable musical opportunity for some of your top students to work and perform with their peers from around the state under the tutelage of some of the finest conductors in the nation.  All-State honor groups will rehearse and perform during the OMEA State Conference, January 13-16, 2011 in Eugene.  All Groups will perform on the fabulous Hult Center for the Performing Arts stage."

Fall Choir Concert

On Thursday, October 21st  we will have our first concert of the year. The theme is "Around the World in 60 Minutes" and all of our music will come from various countries and time periods. We will feature Aloha HS Students on piano and a wide variety of percussion instruments. Our closing piece will be Ritmo by Dan Davison. Ritmo means rhythm and the piece is filled with challenging intervals and rhythmic passages created by body percussion.
